Boat Trip on the Dalyan River

Dalyan, a charming town in Turkey, takes its name from the river it rests upon. The word “Dalyan” translates to “fishery,” as the river has long been a place for catching fish. This region is a protected natural reserve and an important ecological zone.

Your journey begins with a boat ride along the emerald-green Dalyan River. As you glide through breathtaking mountains, weeping willows, and vibrant wildflowers, you’ll see the stunning Lycian Rock Tombs from the 4th century BC, carved high into the cliffs. The Lycians believed that the higher their deceased were buried, the easier it was for their spirits to reach the afterlife.

Dalyan is also home to blue crabs, a European delicacy. You’ll have the opportunity to try this exquisite seafood during your trip.

Iztuzu Beach – The Famous Turtle Beach

Dalyan is renowned for being a sanctuary for the endangered Caretta-Caretta sea turtles. These gentle giants can grow up to 1.5 meters long and weigh between 70-90 kg. Iztuzu Beach is one of the few places in the world where these turtles lay their eggs. At just two months old, the baby turtles instinctively find their way to the sea under the moonlight.

The Turtle Beach is considered one of the cleanest in Turkey, with a unique feature—one side is washed by freshwater, while the other meets the salty Mediterranean Sea. You’ll have 1.5 hours of free time to relax here. With its soft golden sand, warm and crystal-clear waters, and family-friendly atmosphere, it’s an ideal spot for a break. The beach is well-equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, restrooms, and changing cabins.

Healing Mud Bath and Thermal Springs

One of the tour’s highlights is the chance to immerse yourself in Dalyan’s famous mud baths and thermal waters. These sulfur-rich hot springs have been known for their healing properties since ancient times. According to legend, even the goddess Aphrodite bathed in these waters to maintain her extraordinary beauty.
